<html><DIV>My dad and I made it up to Bear River late this afternoon. The area near the entrance of the refuge seems to be where most of the shorebirds are congregating. We saw three Snowy Plovers on some mudflats along the road into the refuge. There was also a Solitary Sandpiper about 1/2 way along the north side of the auto-tour loop. We also found a Semipalmated Sandpiper mixed in with a flock of 250 Least and Western Sandpipers in the ponds by the big red house/barn? along the road leading to the refuge. There was also a Semipalmated Plover foraging in the mudflats there, too.</DIV>
