CACHE COUNTY

At the oxbow bend of the Bear River just north of Benson, WOOD DUCKS and
BLUE-WINGED TEAL were seen on Sunday, 04/15 (BA), and a BLACK-BELLIED
PLOVER was seen on Thursday, 04/19 (SD).

DAVIS COUNTY

In a rare sighting for northern Utah, a WESTERN BLUEBIRD was seen at the
Garr Ranch at Antelope Island SP on Wednesday, 04/18 (BH,EW). The bird was
in the tall trees east of the ranch house.

About 10 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS were seen along the AIC on Friday, 04/13
(MS,v.o.). They were mostly between mile markers 4 and 5.

GRAND COUNTY

A pair of WOOD DUCKS was seen at the Matheson Wetlands Preserve in Moab on
Monday, 04/16 (MS,v.o.). They were in the creek just east of the bridge
near the refuge entrance.

IRON COUNTY

A WHIMBREL was seen at Quichapa Lake west of Cedar City on Monday, 04/23
(RD). It was seen again in the same location on Tuesday evening, 04/24
(SS). Quichapa Lake is just south of SR 56, about 7 miles west of Cedar
City.

Making a rare appearance outside Washington County, a HOODED ORIOLE was
seen visiting a hummingbird feeder in Cedar City on Thursday, 04/19 (SS).

SALT LAKE COUNTY

A FOX SPARROW was seen and heard singing along the boardwalk just below the
Terraces Picnic Area in Millcreek Canyon on Thursday, 04/19 (JN).

SAN JUAN COUNTY

A lone ACORN WOODPECKER was seen at Devil's Canyon on Tuesday, 04/17
(MS,v.o.). The bird was seen in the trees along the east side of the
highway on the south side of the canyon. This has been a good location for
this species in recent years, however, reports have been much less frequent
for the past two years.

UTAH COUNTY

A male INDIGO BUNTING was seen near Lakeshore on Sunday, 04/22 (TR). The
bird was seen again on Monday, 04/23 and Tuesday, 04/24 (v.o.). To get to
where the bird has been seen, take exit 263 from I-15, and go west for
about 5 miles to the bridge across the Spanish Fork River. The bird has
been seen near the junction of 4400 South and River Lane, just east of the
bridge.

Three THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS were seen along the Nebo Loop Road, about 1/4
mile below the ranger station, on Wednesday, 04/18 (RS).

WASHINGTON COUNTY

A PAINTED REDSTART was seen in Zion NP on Sunday, 04/22 (RD). It was in the
riparian woodland about 1/4 mile downstream from the Temple of Sinawava
parking area. The bird was seen again, and heard singing, in a Douglas Fir
tree near that location on Tuesday, 04/24 (RF).

A CASSIN'S VIREO was seen at the Red Cliffs Recreation Area near Leeds on
Sunday, 04/22 (SS).

WAYNE COUNTY

A male NORTHERN PARULA was seen and heard singing in Capital Reef NP on
Sunday, 04/15 (LN). The bird was along the Fremont River trail, just past
the bridge in two large cottonwoods.
