Short-eared owl

I observed a short-eared owl on 4/11 at the Matheson Preserve in Moab.
The bird was flushed from its ground perch and observed flying for a
short distance. Around dusk, the bird was heard calling from a thicket
of bulrush. This represents ( I believe) the second sighting for the
preserve.
