Had a great day birding on the Delta Unit at Ogden Bay WMA on Saturday. 22 species observed during a 2 hour walk. The highlight was an aerial dogfight between a peregrine and rough legged hawk.

Too bad this type of experience may not happen in the future. The Wasatch Front Regional Council presented the proposed transportation corridor for the Legacy Highway for western Weber County. If and when UDOT builds this highway, development will follow and the birds will disappear.

I urge all my fellow birders to resist this highway anyway you can if you want to continue to enjoy your hobby and passion. Remember the plan is to eventually have it run to Payson.

Your efforts will help save the Great Salt Lake and Utah Lake ecosystems. By the way, it may help save my house because we live right in its path.
