BOX ELDER COUNTY
At BRMBR on Saturday, 09/15, at least one SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER was among three dowitchers and numerous Marbled Godwits at the southeast corner of the auto-tour loop. On that same day at BRMBR, large flocks of warblers were moving through the weeds along the west and south sides of the auto-tour loop, including several TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS and at least one NASHVILLE WARBLER (MS,v.o.).
A TOWNSEND'S WARBLER was seen at Willard Bay SP on Saturday, 09/15 (MS,v.o.). It was in the trees at the north edge of the picnic area by the beach south of the CG.
A CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was seen at the Garr Ranch at Antelope Island SP on Monday, 09/17, at about 1:30 pm (BA). The bird was seen in the trees at the east edge of the picnic area, and flew into the denser woodland to the east.
Other birds seen at the Garr Ranch on Antelope Island included LEAST FLYCATCHER, CASSIN'S VIREO, NASHVILLE WARBLER, and TOWNSEND'S WARBLER. These birds were seen on Thursday and Friday, 09/13 and 09/14 (J&KB,TJ).
GRAND COUNTY
NASHVILLE WARBLERS were seen along the boardwalk trail at the Matheson Wetlands Preserve in Moab on Sunday, 09/16 (DF).
SALT LAKE COUNTY
A BLACK PHOEBE, rarely reported in northern Utah, was seen at Mehraben Wetlands Park on Friday, 09/14 (KC), and again on Saturday, 09/15 (SC). Mehraben Wetlands Park is located at 11820 South 820 East in Draper, and is accessed from Meadow Wood Drive at 11705 South and 700 East.
SAN JUAN COUNTY
At Upper Bald Mesa in the La Sal Mountains southeast of Moab, several TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS were seen on Saturday, 09/15 (DF).
UTAH COUNTY
On Saturday, 09/15, PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were among several other species of shorebirds at the mouth of the Provo River at Utah Lake SP. On the same day, NASHVILLE and TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS were seen about 1/2 mile upstream from Utah Lake SP along the Provo River Parkway (CG,v.o.).
