A GREEN HERON was seen at the Dale Young Nature Park in Perry on Saturday, 09/02 (C&SA). To get to the nature park, take Main St. in Brigham City south to 2250 South, and turn west for 3-4 blocks to the park.
On the road to BRMBR, a female LARK BUNTING was seen on Sunday, 09/03 (DG,DS).
DAVIS COUNTY
A STILT SANDPIPER was seen at FBWMA on Sunday, 09/03 (DG,DS). The bird was in the small, shallow pond on the west side of the entrance road, just north of the larger pond where the road turns west.
DUCHESNE COUNTY
A female WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN, along with three chicks, was seen along the northeast shoreline of Blue Lake on Saturday, 09/02 (DW). Blue Lake is located in Naturalist Basin in the Uinta Mountains, about 5 miles along the Highline Trail from SR 150.
SALT LAKE COUNTY
In a strange occurrence for Salt Lake City, a small flock of PINYON JAYS flew north over the Utah State Health Department building at 288 N. 1460 West on Wednesday, 09/06 (DW).
An immature PAINTED BUNTING was seen and photographed at the Pack Creek Ranch, southeast of Moab, on the afternoon of Thursday, 09/07 (MK). Pack Creek Ranch is located along the La Sal Mountain Road. For specific directions to where the bird was seen, call Ron at (435) 259-5505. This is the third report of Painted Bunting in Utah.
An adult BROAD-WINGED HAWK was seen over the Fish Lake Hightop Plateau on Wednesday, 09/06 (TS). The plateau is the high ridge just west of Fish Lake.
SUMMIT COUNTY
A TOWNSEND'S WARBLER was seen at Little Lyman Lake along the North Slope Road in the Uintas on Saturday, 09/02 (DW).
UINTAH COUNTY
A GREEN HERON was seen along the Green River at Bonanza on Monday, 09/04 (KP). The bird was at the Oxbow Pond just downstream from the Bonanza Bridge.
A RED PHALAROPE was seen at the Hurricane sewage lagoons on Thursday, 09/07 (RF). The bird was in the northeast pond. The Hurricane sewage lagoons are located along the south side of SR 9, just west of where the road crosses the Virgin River.
