The male gray-phase GYRFALCON, which was seen in Pocatello Valley on 12/26,
was seen again in the same area, about one mile south of the Idaho border
along 17200 West, on Monday, 12/27 (LC,LW). It was seen again on Tuesday,
12/28, about four miles north of I-84 along the same road (TS). Efforts to
locate the bird since then have been unsuccessful, but the bird is
apparently ranging widely, and may still be in the area. The general area
where the bird was seen can be accessed from exit 24 off I-84, which is
17200 West.
On Thursday, 12/30, at BRMBR, a first-winter THAYER'S GULL was seen along
the east side of the auto-tour loop (MS,DW).

south side at the last curve before reaching the island (JM).
A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen at FBWMA on Saturday, 01/01 (BF). The bird was
along the entrance road at the point where the road bends west.
IRON COUNTY
A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK continues to be occasionally seen in Cedar Valley
west of Cedar City, with the most recent report from Sunday, 12/26 (C&SA).
Efforts to find the bird since then have been unsuccessful, but the bird
may still be in the area.
A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was seen in Cedar Valley west of Cedar City on
Saturday, 01/01 (P&SS).
SALT LAKE COUNTY
A lone SANDERLING was seen just north of the frontage road along I-80 at
about 8500 West on Friday, 12/31 (BH). The bird was at the point where
Lee's Creek crosses under the road and fans out on the flats along the
south shore of the Great Salt Lake.
UTAH COUNTY
A ROSS'S GOOSE and a SNOW GOOSE were seen behind a pond at the first
stoplight to the east of the northern Springville exit from I-15 (exit 265)
on Saturday, 01/01 (M&WM).
WASHINGTON COUNTY
A HARRIS'S SPARROW was seen during the St. George CBC on Tuesday, 12/28
