BOX ELDER COUNTY

Both male and female LAPLAND LONGSPURS were seen at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge (BRMBR) on Saturday, 11/06 (EC). The birds were along the north side of the auto-tour loop. Longspurs were also seen with a flock of Horned Larks on the road to BRMBR, about 5 miles east of the refuge, on Tuesday, 11/09 (C&SA).

A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen west of Rosette in northwestern Box Elder County on Saturday, 11/06 (M&MSm).

Two GREAT EGRETS were seen at the southeast corner of the auto-tour loop at BRMBR on Tuesday, 11/09 (C&SA).


CACHE COUNTY On Hyrum Reservoir, two COMMON LOONS were seen on Tuesday, 11/09 (C&SA).


DAVIS COUNTY The PARASITIC JAEGER, which has been seen irregularly at Farmington Bay WMA since mid-September, was seen again on Sunday, 11/07 (CN,MS,DW,LW). The bird was swimming in the Great Salt Lake near the parking area at the end of the western dike road, and was observed chasing gulls near the parking area. It was last seen flying west along the shore of the lake.

Several HORNED GREBES continue to be present along the western dike road at Farmington Bay WMA as of Sunday, 11/07 (CN,MS,DW,LW).

Along the Antelope Island Causeway, about 50 SANDERLINGS were seen scattered along the north side on Sunday, 11/07. On Antelope Island, two AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS were seen in the brush just east of the campground at Bridger Bay on the same day (CN,MS,DW,LW).


SALT LAKE COUNTY A flock of about 25 COMMON BUSHTITS was seen in City Creek Canyon, just past the 1.5 mile marker on Wednesday, 11/10 (AM).


UTAH COUNTY A BEWICK'S WREN was seen in Anderson Park in Pleasant Grove on Thursday, 11/11 (TW). To get to Anderson Park, take 200 South in Pleasant Grove to 950 East, and turn north to the park.

A MERLIN was again seen along the Provo/Jordan River Parkway, just north of the Provo Boat Harbor at Utah Lake SP, on Sunday, 11/07 (M&MSm).


WASHINGTON COUNTY Five or six ACORN WOODPECKERS were seen on Friday, 11/05, along the East Rim Trail in Zion NP (KH). The birds were between Observation Point and the east boundary of the park.

Two COMMON LOONS were seen at the northwest end of Quail Creek Reservoir on Friday, 11/05 (JJ).
