A LEWIS' WOODPECKER was seen in the town of Farmington on Saturday, 08/01 and Sunday, 08/02, in a large, dead cottonwood tree across the street from the house at 1313 West 1800 North. To get there, take US 89 north towards the Cherry Hill Campground, turning left at the Chevron gas station, then immediately left again onto 1800 North. In about 200 yds., there is a church on the right, and then the house at 1313 on the left. The woodpecker has been in the dead tree in the pasture across the street, and on the utility poles along the street (BF).
A pair of WILLIAMSON'S SAPSUCKERS was seen along the Twin Lakes trail in upper Big Cottonwood Canyon on Saturday, 07/25 and Sunday, 07/26. They were in the trees at the first switchback. A WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH was seen at Lake Solitude on Saturday, 07/25 and a RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD was found at the same location on Sunday. 07/26 (J&KB).
