Sunday afternoon, returning from the airport (dropped off son and future
daugter-in-law) I decided on a different route south and took Redwood
Road to Lehi and on all the way to Elberta on highway 68. Between
milemarkers 5 and 6, on the east side of the road was a large flock of
LONG-BILLED CURLEWS foraging in a field. I lost count at 80 when the
back of the flock flew to the front. No success in turning any of them
into whimbrels. Rats.
