Hey,
I walked up to Rock Canyon this afternoon (Oct 27) after class. In the
strong SE winds and overcast conditions I was surprised to see a fairly
decent hawk flight. From about 2:30-4:15 pm I saw the following hawks from
the entrance to rock canyon:
Red-tailed Hawk: 32 (incl. 3 dark morph)
Golden Eagle: 3
Bald Eagle: 1 ad.
Sharp-shinned Hawk: 3
Unid: 4
Also near the entrance of the canyon were many Am. Robins (~75),
Ruby-crowned Kinglets (9) and a Townsend's Solitaire.
cheers,
Matt Mills
