Leena and I drove to Lincoln beach this morning (Fri 5/3/02) and found
western sandpipers and 3-4 others that looked like semi-palmated to me
but I'm hesitant to call them since they can be so confusing. Someone
please verify! They were in the south end mud where a stream comes into
the lake. We also saw two semi-palmated plovers that turned into baby
kildeer. Isn't it a little early for babies? At 4000 W in Lakeshore, a
surprise black-throated sparrow. I still think this quy takes the cake as
for good looks in sparrows.
Happy birding ~ Tuula
