This is for Jack Holley and crew and the rest of the birding world out there.
Red-throated Loon -1. Matt and Donna Thorum- 0.
After scoping 100s of Western and Clarks grebes, many Common Loons, mergansers, gulls, Eared grebes, and one cormorant for at least one and a half hours we failed to find the Red-throated Loon. My husband tells me you can't loons because at any given time half of them are under water.
We did get the birds mention on the AIC, but failed with both the Barn Owl and the Burrowing Owl.
Had a great day. Now you go and try it.
Donna Thorum
