Hello Everyone,
This afternoon (1/23), I visited the Red Hills Golf Course (Washington Co.)
hoping to get some photos of the Western Flycatcher. I found the bird along
City Creek at the upstream end of the golf course. I managed to take a few
photographs through my scope, when a second Empid briefly flew in and chased
the 'Western' Flycatcher. I did not get very good looks at the second bird,
but it was paler overall, and appeared lankier.
Well done on the Fulvous Whistling-Ducks (and the Boreal Owl)!!! It does
indeed appear to an "irruption year" for these ducks with several recent
sightings in Arizona. I've been looking all winter for one down here, but
they must of skipped right over for sunny Bear River!.
Best Regards,
Rick Fridell
