Today, Thursday, at about 10:am, I observed 3
Loons swiming near the inlet at Quail Creek Reservoir. 2 were easily identified
as juvenile Common Loons, the third had it's head concealed and could not
be ID'd. And it's still July! Additionally, on a small, recently reexposed
island, there were 10 common Mergansers in eclipse plummage.
