In addition to the Swallows (and tree pollen, I
might add) I saw the first backyard Black-throated Sparrow of spring
today. Last summer a pair fledged a nice little family on the back slope of
our property. Maybe the same this year? The Anna's rarely put
in an appearance now. My records for 2002 show Black-chinned and
Broad-tailed Hummingbirds arriving in March. No show yet!
Also, butterflies are numerous this spring,
especially Morning Cloaks and Orangetips.
