Saturday, Red Cliffs Audubon
visited Cedar Mountain and Cedar Breaks Natl. Monument. Seen at Cedar
Breaks campground were a pair of Three-toed Woodpeckers. The view was
unobstructed, at no more than 25 yards and the birds remained on the trees long
enough for all to see.
The bark beetles have decimated
the older stands of fir and spruce so birding this area is not as rewarding as
in past years. However, Three-toed Woodpeckers can still be
found!
