Morning Birding

Good evening.

I had an hour to kill this morning so I went up to the Stonebridge Pond
and worked my way south along the Santa Clara River, hitting
Stonebridge, Sunbrook, Mathis Park, and Tonaquint Park. I got 35
species, two of which were exciting, new for my Washington county list:
a Green-tailed Towhee near the Sunbrook Golf Course in the old growth
riparian habitat and an adult Osprey at the Tonaquint Nature Center.

The Osprey flew over the pond from north to south at about 40 feet.
Probably spooked by the tennis players and returned heading north. Last
seen over the NuSkin Estate "thermaling" and rising.
