The bird that Bill mentioned is indeed a Boreal Owl. Bill will post
more information as soon as he recieves it, the bird was seen in Card
Canyon, a branch of Logan Canyon, on Saturday. You can see the

With that said, I may rearrange my plans tomorrow and go try to pull a
Boreal Owl out of a hat, or a tree for that matter. For those not
aware, it has been believed that this species indeed ihabits that
Wasatch front, with various sightings over the past 10 years.
