I received a report of a second causeway Burrowing Owl seen yesterday.
Win Shafer, visitor from Pennsylvania, visited the causeway yesterday
and spent some quality time with the Burrowing Owl that's excavating on
the south side between mm 3 and 2. Win and his family proceeded west
and stopped at the big bridge at mile .8 near the marina, where they
flushed another Burrowing Owl. He said the bird was in the rocks on the
south side of the causeway. It flew up out of the rocks, landed, and
even chattered at them. Win felt as though this owl could not have been
the same one as the bird between mm 3 and 2 because they drove the 2
miles to the second location fairly quickly.
