Can you help I.D. this bird

I've had this photo since 2003 and keep wondering exactly what it is.  I think it's a female Brewer's Blackbird, but what do you all think? At first I thought it was a Cowbird, but the bill is wrong. It's the same bird in both photos. In the one photo, the back looks iridescent(that's not right for a female Brewer's, is it??). It was trying to reach the water in the horse corral at Garr Ranch.
