I spent a few hours today checking the southeast shore of Utah Lake.
There are still a few American white pelicans and snowy egrets
lingering, and both western and Clark's grebes were seen, some still
with maturing young. American pipits were common along this part of the
lake. The best birds of the day were three black-bellied plovers at
Lincoln beach, a herring gull - I believe it was a 3rd year bird - also
at Lincoln beach, and a very dapper northern mockingbird just east of
the hay barn on Swede Lane.
