Tonight was a great night for the young falcon! She had some beautiful
long flights. She took some big wide turns and is learning how to gain
altitude. One observer reported that she climbed nearly to the top of
the Church Office Building which I think is some 26 stories high. Her
flights no longer consist of continuous flapping - she is starting to
glide. She also flew near some glass front buildings and was able to
keep out of trouble.
This is really a big improvement. Remember that up until today, the
young bird has only taken short flappy flights, a couple of which
brought her down. Let's keep our fingers crossed that she picks up
tomorrow where she left off today.
