More Mirror Lake Highway Birds

We were interested in hearing about the birds that Jack Binch, Lu
Giddings, and Bob Huntington were seeing on the Mirror Lake Highway Road
(Utah Highway 150) over the last few days. On Sunday (June 5th) we were
also birding the Mirror Lake Highway, but over on the North Slope side
at Sulphur Campground (MM 39, elevation 9,065 feet, cold and a little
rainy).

We saw the following:

American Robin
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Dark-eyed Junco
Wilson's Warbler (tons of them!!)
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Broad-tailed Hummingbird
Red-naped Sapsucker
Song Sparrow
Chipping Sparrow
Northern Flicker
Townsend's Solitaire
Cassin's Finch
Mountain Chickadee

We also birded on the dam end of Whitney Reservoir as well as on the
nearby Mill City Creek drainage (about 35 miles south of Evanston,
Wyoming and 9 miles off of Mirror Lake Highway on dirt roads, elevation
9,367 feet).

We saw the following:

AMERICAN PIPIT (small flock, most in paler adult breeding plumage, life
bird for both of us)
Osprey
Mountain Blue Bird
Prairie Falcon
Killdeer
Northern Harrier
American Robin
Chipping Sparrow
Wilson's Warbler
Mallard Duck
White-crowned Sparrow
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Dark-eyed Junco
Red-tailed Hawk

The Robins (Hal & Kathleen)
