The bird that caused the Tuesday morning power outage in Davis County, widely reported as unknown and dead, is neither. It is a female American Kestrel, and was picked up by Utah Division of Wildlife Resources personnel and brought to the Ogden Nature Center for rehabilitation. She is burned on the stomach and feet and much of her plumage is singed. Otherwise she is alert and responsive. It is too early to declare her out of danger, and much to soon to predict her releasability, but she is getting the best care we can offer.
