Hi,
I'm certainly no expert on Cackling Geese, but, with the white neck ring,
that bird looks like an Aleutian Canada Goose. My big Sibley's (p. 75) shows
the Cackling as not having a neck ring. Of course, this Sibley's came out
before they split the species, so maybe they lumped the Cackling with the
Aleutian? So confusing!
