Re: first bird
My first bird of 2005 was a Black-billed Magpie, first seen on the screen of
the digital camera of the boyfriend of my step-daughter, and then seen on a
power-line in real life. :)

My first bird was a female Flicker who cleared the snow off the trays for
the little birds. Then a sharp-shinned Hawk flew in and picked off a
Junco.
