On Sunday we traveled around Utah county again and were treated to a
Cooper's Hawk at the mouth of Rock Canyon. Scrub jays and Steller's jays
were hanging around the area and came out in the open AFTER the Cooper's
found lunch.
Near Mona Nicky spotted a Great Horned Owl hidden in a stand of trees. We
got a few pictures but it would have been nicer if the sun was out and the
owl was perched on a post in the open about ten feet from the car (I can
dream). It was a treat, nonetheless.
Other birds spotted:
Ferruginous Hawks
Bald Eagles
Rough-legged Hawks
Red-tailed Hawks
Loggerhead Shrikes
Spotted Towhees
Northern Harriers
Pied-billed Grebes
All the regular ducks
Downy Woodpeckers
Carol
