I was at Silverfork Lodge last Saturday for lunch and watched their feeders
or about two hours from about noon to 2:30 which are located on the south
deck and saw a hairy woodpecker, steller's jays, mountain and black-capped
chickadees, and two red-breasted nuthatches. It was great fun to see them.
The woodpecker and steller's were on feeders at the same time which gave an
obvious clue to the woodpecker's id.

Message: We observed a female hairy woodpecker in our yard in Emigration
Canyon yesterday for about an hour. We've never seen one here before;
driven down by the weather? Also, we have Steller's Jays and Mountain
Chickadees, which are both regular winter visitors, but usually not til
Jan-Feb.
