Trumpeter Swan #9Y3, that was spotted at Hyrum Reservoir by BAS on 11/20/04, was found dead, Saturday, 12/18/04, in the vicinity of Goleta, California. I feel very fortunate to have seen this magnificent bird before its demise. It brought me a tremendous amount of joy.

... the trumpeter swan that we've photographed has been found dead by electrocution from electric wires that are along the Veneco road ... I talked to the people who documented it.
