Rosy finches

Lu,
I walked for about a mile up the trail Tuesday around 1:oo pm and did not see any rosy finches. I saw a kestrel, a merlin and a harrier and a couple of juncos on the trail. Very quiet.
Coming back though, the parking lot was busy with lots of rosy-colored house finches feeding on the hillside with more juncos.
Eric, what time of day did you see them?
