SNOW GEESE, and CACKLERS @ Decker Lake

I birded the Salt LAke County "loop" today after my trip to AI Causeway, where I
found the Harris's Sparrow. Hoping my good luck would continure I satarted off
by hitting Decker Lake where there were 2 Snow Geese and 3 Cackling Geese, in
the near 1000 Canada Goose Flock. There were also a dozen or so domestic geese
not to be confused as GWF Geese or Snow. NExt I hit The Jordna River to see if
there were nay early divers on the. There was a lone Common Goldeneye at 2200
south, nothing else.

After htis it was to Decker lake where there really were very few birds.
Besides, 3 PB Grebes, 3 DC Cormorants, and a few California Gulls, there were 3
Great-tailed Grackle, a coulle Herring Gulls, and that was about it.

Finally at Salt Air, it was a completely differnt story than a month ago. Today
the water was like glass, wiht a mere 2 California Gulls and 3 Eared Grebes in
the marina. On the lake, there were NO BIRDS.

A great start to a 6 day break from classes, hopefully the weekend will bring
some more photo opps, and some more great birds.

Good Birding
