The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have posted three reports at their
Emerging Infectious Dieases website this week that may be of interest to
birders.
West Nile Virus Outbreak in North American Owls:
http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/EID/vol10no12/04-0167.htm
West Nile Strain Virulence for American Crows:
http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/EID/vol10no12/04-0486.htm
West Nile Virus Viremia in Wild Rock Pigeons:
http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/EID/vol10no12/04-0511.htm
Thus far I have only read the owl report, which is a bit sobering.
