Regarding the speculation on the Brant being taken by a waterfowl hunter at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge. It is legal, should this have occurred. Brant would be considered as "Dark" Geese. Responsible, waterfowl hunters do not shoot anything flying. You may review the waterfowl proclamation at the DWR web site: www.wildlife.utah.gov . A properly licensed waterfowl hunter may take three dark geese daily, during the goose hunting season.
