There were about 20 Snow Geese on the north dike in
Unit 1A of the Bear River Migratory Bird
Refuge. Six were dark morph. They survived the waterfowlers' guns and were last
seen flying high towards Unit 3A.
Also there were 2 vireos, Plumbeous maybe, 1/2 a
mile north of the big observatory on the tour route.
Short-eared owls can be viewed hunting, especially
at dawn, a mile or so before you enter the refuge
and on the south side of the tour route as it goes thru Unit 1A.
I did not see the Brant.
