Hi All:
One of our refuge volunteers (originally from northern Minnesota - GO
VIKINGS!) has had a blue jay coming to her feeders for about a week. Her
name is Pat Hansen, a very nice lady, who is happy to have birders come to
visit. You don't have to call ahead. She advises that birders should park
on the street and go around the carport side of her house to look at
feeders in the back yard. She says the bird also flies directly across the
street to the neighbor's house that has both deciduous and coniferous trees
in the yard; it seems to hang out over there quite a bit also. It's pretty
vocal, as well, often giving verbal clues as to its whereabouts.
Please be sensitive to neighbor's property and arriving too early in the
a.m. or late at night. Thank you!
