After checking for the zone-tailed hawk this morning (Sunday 8/22/04)
with no luck, I ended up at River Lane (Utah Co.) to find seven Salt Lake
birders and one fellow UCB member already counting up warblers. A
combined effort for about four hours produced eleven (11) species as
follows:
1. Yellow
2. Yellow-rumped
3. Orange-crowned
4. Wilsons
5. Virginias
6. Nashville
7. Townsends
8. Black-throated gray
9. Common yellowthroat
10. AMERICAN REDSTART (male and female)
11. BLACK & WHITE
Most of them were located right after the cattle guard on the right
(North) side of the road. They were always close to the chickadees. In
addition, plumbeous, CASSINS and warbling vireos were seen. (For
directions to River Lane check "Places to bird" on the website)
Happy birding ~ Tuula
