Update from Short-eared central and Shrike alert

Went out to airport road last night.
The Short-eared Owls were out there and this time I only counted about 6.
Some observations made included, an owl chasing a Northern Harrier, nipping at its tail.
We watched another owl chase a barn swallow and just about catch it!
We were able to get quite close to one owl that was sitting on a fence post and my friend got some decent pics. I will send them later.
The owls were once again circling us, like a group of buzzards and barking at us as they swooped over head. We witnessed some incredible aerobatics as 2 owls at a time would chase other, spiraling to the ground and pulling up just before hitting the ground. Very interesting.
Possibly juveniles at play or a continuation of displaying to identify territory or to impress the girls? I'm not sure.
We saw a very dark, reddish short-eared that was absolutely striking. This would be the female and the lighter, more on the gray side, were the males.

Other bird of note was a lone Loggerhead Shrike seen on the west end of the road.
