This discussion has led me to page 391 of my Sibley Guide. The mystery bird
seems to have a strong resemblance to the Juvenile (Apr-Aug) Rock Wren
illustrated there. Sibley notes that these birds "bounce up and down (deep
knee bends)." Did any of the observers notice this bouncing or a pronounced
lack thereof?
