I've only been birding for a few years but I can detect a little bird
hanky-panky when I see it. This mystery bird has stripes on the short tail
and stripes on the wings with a faint evidence of spots on the breast. It
also has a face like a thrasher. Therefore, I conclude that a Bendire's
thrasher and a rock wren had a spring rendezvous in the desert sun. That's
my story I'm stickin' to it.
