UCB birders field trip ( Snowy Plovers, Baird's Sandpipers )

Seven Utah County Birders went out this morning on a field trip to see what shorebirds we could find down around the south end of the lake at Lincoln and LeBarron Points. We did end up seeing ten species of shorebirds, maybe still a little early. But fun none the less.
We saw several Snowy Plovers around Lincoln Point. Also at Lincoln Point we saw a good sized flock of Baird's Sandpipers. Also in the area along the road we saw some birds that are not as common to Utah County like Northern Mockingbird, Blue Grosbeak and Sage Thrasher. There was also a large number of Franklin's Gulls and White-faced Ibis along the shores. Alltogether we saw around 50 species of birds on our morning jaunt out. We were back by 11:00 A.M. Not bad for a morning stroll. A list of the shorebird species seen is below. Join us on our next field trip. ( to be posted soon )
