Greetings!
Today (Saturday) The Salt Lake Tribune has
a front page article entitled
Mr. & Mrs. Peregrine are back in SLC. The pair of
falcons hatched two chicks about three weeks ago in a man-made nesting box on a
ledge of the JSM Building.
Bob Walters, UDWR, predicts the chicks will fledge around June
19th and hopes to have a small army of volunteers in place to monitor the birds
every day during daylight hours. Call Bob at 538-4771 to
volunteer.
I was really excited when KC Childs reported seeing these
birds earlier this year and it's nice to know how the birds are doing now.
I worked downtown for many years and used to watch the falcons long before I was
interested in birding.
See you downtown!
