A breeding plumage male Bullock's Oriole has taken to one of my humming
bird feeders. To my knowledge this is the first time this has happened at
this house. My late mother fed hummers here for years and never mentioned
a bright orange interloper. I have no idea if the oriole will keep the
humming birds away.
I plan on putting out a fruit feeder, and I have two nectar feeders out so
the black-chinned have options. I have at least two breeding pair of
hummingbirds in the yard every summer. Anybody else have this happening?
I've seen it at Ramsey Canyon, but not here.
