FYI. "It stands for Breeding Bird Atlas. It is the process by which a survey of nationwide breeding birds takes place each year between May and early June. Birders volunteer to cover a specific route, stopping at .25 mile intervals (I think) to listen for singing birds for two minutes or so. All data is compiled to deliver a snapshot of breeding bird fluctuations from year to year." Since he didn't post it I'll keep him anonymous.
