Boise birding

We will be in Boise visiting relatives next weekend and would like to do a 
little birding.  Does anyone know some good places up there.  We have walked 
along the Boise River when we have been up there before and have seen quite a few 
birds, but would like to know about any other places that would be 
interesting.  Where our daughter lives is near the river and the houses in her area have 
a large pond running in back of them.  Sometimes a great blue heron hangs out 
there.
