The Henefer lek is probably about 7-10 days away from being snow free.
There were no grouse present at 7:15 this morning, although, granted,
that is a little late.
East Canyon reservoir is still almost completely covered with ice,
although there is some open water at its inlets. Given the appearance of
the ice, I would guess that there will be much more open water in a week
to ten days if the daytime temperatures remain high. There were a pair
of Barrow's Goldeneye, along with common goldeneye, common mergansers,
green-wing teal, mallards, and Canada geese at the resort end of the
lake.
