I have had the common suspects at my feeders this winter. Juncos, House
Finches, American Goldfinch, Northern Flicker, Downy & Hairy Woodpecker(s).
Just started to get some Magpies eating off the ground and the suet feeders.
House Sparrows started showing up.
But the most interesting species I have had yet, is a mammal!!
I have had deer just starting to discover my black sunflower seed feeders!
They cleaned me out early this morning. I just filled the feeder last night
and it was empty this morning at 7:00 am. I have not seen them myself, but
their prints are all over the scene of the crime and the feeder was tipped
down.
Does anyone have any suggestions on keeping deer out of your feeders?
Peace,
Stephen Peterson
Logan

Is everyone else experiencing a vast amount of birds at their feeders? I've
never had red-wings in the winter like this and there are so many
goldfinches and sparrows. My kingdom for a black oil sunflower and thistle
seed farm.
