Hi All -
I spent about 2 hours this morning, Saturday morning, at Willard Bay State
Park looking for the phainopepla -without luck. I parked in the day use lot
and walked the trail north first, to the pond I believe Pomera described and
beyond. Then walked all around the campground, then the trail south of the
day use lot, then back to the pond before I had to leave. The park was
loaded with yellow-rumped warblers and robins. Also found a few chickadees,
white-crowned sparrows, kestrel, red-tailed hawk, a sharpie, magpie,
starlings, blackbirds and numerous gulls. Since the park is only 10 minutes
from my house, I'll try again.
Dang. But thanks, Pomera, for the post!
