AIC and North Arm

Thanks to Bruce and Pomera for their help in locating dunlins and black-
bellied plovers at Antelope Island.
We also visited the North Arm of Pineview Reservoir (hoping the catbirds
might be there). A yellow warbler crossed our path in the woods and we
also saw a sandhill crane flying overhead. There were some birds singing
that sounded something like Lark Sparrows but we could never actually see
one.
Along the Weber River, just after exiting Weber Canyon, we saw what looked
like a hairy woodpecker amidst a bunch of waxwings, three cormorants
sitting in some large trees and a common merganser resting on a rock in the
middle of the river. The area around there was very active with birds of
all kinds.
It turned out to be a beautiful day for birding.
