Today, there were 300+ MARBLED GODWITS in the pastures, along the shoreline
of the Bear River and ON the road going out to the Bear River Refuge. These
birds were first found at 9 a.m. and were still present after 3 p.m. The
spot is 3 to 3.5 miles from I-15, on either side of the trailer house.
Other birds found in this same area were 11 SANDHILL CRANES, 2 CATTLE
EGRETS, 13 LONG-BILLED CURLEWS, 2 WILLETS and numerous California and
Franklin's Gulls.
There are also good numbers of American avocets, black-necked stilts,
white-faced ibis, long-billed dowitchers and tons of waterfowl easily
visible along the refuge road. Two black-crowned night-herons were also
observed.
On Tuesday, April 22, there were 7 cattle egrets in a pasture 1/2 mile south
of Corinne (on whatever number road goes from Brigham City to Corinne)
